There's so much to do here at Big Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Sunset Point Campground is a good place for that, and a visit to nearby Chair Pond Head is very relaxing. This lake is so wonderful. Big Pond is a rather wet place frequently with a lot of rainfall; through the month of November you get the most rain around here while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. That right there is heaps already, but it carries on; Big
Pond has it all. While you're here at Big Pond, you could also explore charming East Steuben Pond, and you can have a glorious hiking adventure along the Alder Path Trail.
Through the summertime here at Big Pond, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. During the winter the highs are typically in the 30's, and night lows at Big Pond through the winter regularly drop into the 10's. A magnificent site right

next door to Big Pond is Bar Ledge, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Schoodic Head Trail. If you need a spot to stay Bar Harbor Inn is a brilliant choice, and there's whitewater on Narraguagus River - West Branch for all you thrill seekers.
This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Mainayr Campground, and hiking along the The Anvil Trail is splendid fun. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Narraguagus River, and do pop by Chair Pond, it's a scenic lake.
