If you are in Hancock county it's always a good idea to stop by Big Pond. The Gatherings Family Campground is a great campground nearby; why not take a refreshing hike along the Bald Mountain Trail. Watts Hill is lovely and can be made out from Big Pond; on a pretty day you can check out Jesse Beach. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Union River, and Branch Lake Dam is wonderful.

The annual rain here at Big Pond is about average; the wettest month of the year is frequently November, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Big Pond. Branch Lake Stream offers some nice whitewater.
This lake is so wonderful. Big Pond is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, Hospitality Woods RV Park is a wonderful place to camp nearby; do take a hike on the Blue
Hill Trail. Have a glorious hiking adventure along the Peaked Mountain Trail. For the duration of the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Big Pond. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. All through the
winter this place gets highs in the 20's; overnight lows during the wintertime for Big Pond tend to be in the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. A perfect close by hotel is White Birches Country Club, and Boggy Brook is in the vicinity of Big Pond and is always a delight to go to.
