There is a good hiking trail next to Big Notch Pond called the Intake Trail, and Bingham Motor Inn is a glorious site to get some rest. An average amount of rain falls at Big Notch Pond; July is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through the warm months highs here at Big Notch Pond reach the 70's,       and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Big Notch Pond are in the-10's. A fine nearby hotel is Lodge at Moosehead Lake; if you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Piscataquis River - East Branch. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Big Notch Pond. If you came to camp Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a glorious                  location to do that. There's so much to do here at Big Notch Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Northern Pride Lodge and Campground is a delightful place for that.
