     Do go to Mule Pond in close proximity to Big Mucalsea Pond, it's a charming lake, and drift down the rapids of Baker Branch in a kayak. Summer at Big Mucalsea Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while Big Mucalsea Pond overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Penobscot River - West Branch  
   is so much fun; the panorama of Mucalsea Mountain is wonderful. You'll hit upon a stunning lake called Little Mucalsea Pond near Big Mucalsea Pond.
If you came to camp Seboomook wilderness Campground is a great place to do that, and Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a great place to get some rest. The amount of precipitation that falls at Big Mucalsea Pond is close to the national average; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February.

This is the web site for Seboomoook Wilderness Campground. Yes they are still there and it's still beautiful! Their phone number is at their web site. They have a new email address but I don't know what it is....
My family and I have been to seboomook campground for the last 7 years, Its beautiful, friendly and a great place to spend some time. When planning this years trip I have discovered that I cannot get to the web page,(when going to that page a porno site comes up) and the number I had made reservations on for the last 7 years is not in service. I dont understand this?...Is it still there???...
