High temperatures at Big Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Big Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. Big Lake ordinarily gets a large amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is November; the driest month of the year is June. This is no place for people who don’t       like to have a good time. A fine spot for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Big Lake is Grand Lake Stream, and you can spend the day on the beach at Hold Shore. Dry warm beds await you at Cloud 9 Motel, and Old Stream is a magnificent whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Bellmard Motel & Tourist Home is a good location to get some rest. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Big Lake has to offer, you can camp at Keenes                  Lake Camping Grounds. Lamb Cove is not far from Big Lake at all, and one of the best things about this site is its proximity to Campbell Shore.
