Take a hike on the Arnold Trail, and not far from Big Island Pond you obtain some pleasant water scenery at Beaver Pond Dam. You'll hit upon a gorgeous lake called Rock Pond near Big Island Pond; Big Island Pond is right by the Arnold Pond Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Cupsuptic Campground is a glorious location to do that, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kennebago River. place for that, and Dead River - North Branch is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. Summertime highs at Big Island Pond usually tend to be in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. During the wintertime highs are
mostly in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Big Island Pond. Do pop by Big Island Pond near Big Island Pond, it's a scenic lake.

 | 10 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
