For the period of the summertime at Big Caribou Pond highs are mostly in the 70's while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are generally in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Big Caribou Pond dip into the-10's. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are truly bountiful here at Big Caribou Pond. Katahdin Inn is a good site to get       some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Munsungan Lake Tote Road, and if you came to camp Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a good site to do that. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Munsungan Stream. There's so much to do here at Big Caribou Pond that you need to camp here for a while, South Branch Pond Campground is a fine site for that. Don't leave Big Caribou Pond without                  first going for a hike along the Freezeout Road, and Moose Brook is in close proximity to Big Caribou Pond and is always a joy to go to. Big Caribou Pond gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February.
