Hiking along the Sally Mountain Trail is tremendous fun, and get yourself       into a kayak and hit Cold Stream. If only every site had this much outdoors enjoyable stuff, what a great globe it would be. Big Berry Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Woody's Campground and Cottages is a good local campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Kennebec River offers some fine whitewater. Big Berry Pond is not the only place close by, Chain Ponds is a close by lake; a short spree to Cold Stream Falls is always worthwhile. Big Berry Pond is a good place of normal precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. High temperatures at Big Berry Pond throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's.
