And if that's not sufficient, there's heaps more to do close to Bennett Pond. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Gulf Hagas Trail, and needless to say Lowell Brook flows through this neighborhood. Pingree Dam is worth stopping at while you're here; a lake close by is Greenleaf Pond. All the water falling down from the sky makes Bennett Pond       a wet location; during July this area sees the most rain; February is when it's the driest. A splendid location to camp here at Bennett Pond is Balsam woods Campground; dry warm beds await you at Pittsfield Motor Inn. This lake is so wonderful. A golf course in the vicinity of Bennett Pond is Piscataquis Country Club, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Kingsbury Stream. Through the long summer days at Bennett Pond temperatures are typically in the                  70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the-10's for Bennett Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a great choice.
