Bell Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Getting to Pogy Brook from Bell Pond is trouble-free, and the Wassataquoik Tote Road offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Katahdin Inn is a good site to get some rest; do take a hike on the Howe. through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are mostly in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Bell Pond temperatures drop to the-10's. If you come at the right time of year, Sandy
Stream offers some good whitewater, and Grand Falls is a splendid local attraction. Bell Pond is a good place of normal rain; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is February. Pogy Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and why not take a refreshing hike along the South Branch Trail.
