     Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Chase Ponds, and you can run the rapids of Big Brook River. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Beaver Tail Pond without first going for a hike along the Island Pond Trail, and Beaver Tail Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Pelletier's Campground is a glorious local campground. There are great sites to  
   discover along the Fox Brook Trail, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Falls Brook.
From a precipitation point of view Beaver Tail Pond is a pretty normal site; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Beaver Tail Pond all through the warm days of summer are in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Highs during the
 
               wintertime are typically in the 10's while Beaver Tail Pond night low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's. Lakes? Sure, Mud Pond is in the neighborhood; camping at Little Black Check Point is always a delightful experience.
