     There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Magalloway River, and nearby you stumble on the Old Magalloway Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. For the period of the long summer days at Beaver Pond highs are mostly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Beaver Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Trestle Brook is a perfect  
   place to explore; if you came for an overnight stay Ramblewood Cabins and Campground is a wonderful site to camp. Why not camp at Deer Mountain Campground if you're here at Beaver Pond, and from Beaver Pond you acquire a perfect panorama of Rump Mountain.
Hit the slopes at Balsams Wilderness in the neighborhood; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Rump Pond. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining things, what
 
               a great globe it would be. Not far from Beaver Pond, you'll discover Billings Ponds which is a charming lake. A good deal of rainfall falls at Beaver Pond; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture.

Drove up on the 14th of October, 1 day before season closed. First time in 35 years of going was the pond complete smooth, not a ripple. Between my friend and I, we must have caught 30-40 fish both on dry & wet flies, only keeping 4 for breakfast the next morning. It was a good mix of newly stocked (white bellies) and either hold overs or natives (deep rich colors). It was a wonderful experience!...
