You can never get enough of the great skiing at Titcomb, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Watson Pond is just a very short distance away. Fairfield Inn & Suites Augusta is a nice spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Cobbosseecontee Stream; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? | | and a good close by hotel is Winthrop Motel. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. There's so much to do here at Beaver Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Five Seasons Campground is a glorious site for that; a fine sight of wonderful Blueberry Hill is available. Throughout the warmest time of the year, highs commonly are in the 70's at Beaver Pond; the night is a bit cooler of course, typically in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs | |

in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Beaver Pond temperatures fall to the 0's. Paddling on Sandy River is so much fun, and don't forget to explore Long Point since you're here. You're sure to come across
some nice people from Augusta-Waterville here; fine skiing awaits you at Eaton Mountain. Beaver Pond is a wet place that gets a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile
is the driest month. If you came to camp Camp Laurel is a great site to do that, and if you've had enough of Beaver Pond, Round Pond is nearby.

Eaton Mountain
 | 18 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
