    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Beaver Pond. All the water falling down from the sky makes Beaver Pond a wet spot; November is the wettest month with most rain; August is the month with the least moisture. The summit of Deer Hill can be seen from Beaver Pond, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Royal River. Summertime highs at Beaver Pond typically tend to be in the 70's, and the night is a tad chillier of course, generally in the 50's. The cold days  
   of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Beaver Pond descend into the 0's.
It's always good to go to Saccarappa Falls, and at Saccarappa Dam in the vicinity of Beaver Pond there are some attention-grabbing things to see. Beaver Pond Brook flows through this neighborhood, and you can stay the night at Wassamki Springs Campground. The skiing at Lost Valley is good.
This lake is so wonderful.
 
               There are plenty of folks from Portland-South Portland here at Beaver Pond, and Haskell Pond is a splendid lake nearby. Get covered with water paddling on Chandler Brook; if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SOUTH PORTLAND is a great choice. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great planet it would be. Twin Falls Golf Club is a golf course near Beaver Pond. Lakes? Sure, Presumpscot River Reservoir is close at hand.
This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors The Elms Bed and Breakfast is a great location to spend a night or two. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Beaver Pond has to offer, you can camp at Wassamki Springs.

A canoe or kayak ride is a must! Very close to the Eastern Trail for a scenic hike of nature and wildlife.  A tranquil setting but yet close to shopping, fine dining and the beach.  Not many activities on site, but no noise either.  Also, a strong WiFi signal was nice for a change and cable TV with 70 channels at our level site.  Highly recommend if staying for a week, month or the season.  Plenty to do in the area....

This is a nice small pond just off of 302 but you can't hear any of the busy traffic. I'd recommend LOTS of bug sprays as the mosquitoes tend to swarm and are very plentiful this year. If you're not a fisherman but your children are...there are picnic tables for you to enjoy a book, needlepoint, or just relax and take in the fresh air....
