A lake nearby is Cut Pond, and hiking along the Kennedy Tote Road is nice fun. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Bigrock is close to Beaver Pond. Beaver Pond gets a normal amount of rain; through July this area sees the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. If you come at the right time of year, Mattawamkeag River - East Branch offers       some good whitewater; a tremendous location to camp here at Beaver Pond is Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds. Now, you may believe that's a heap but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Beaver Pond. It's a fine idea to stop by Collis Brook, it's in the neighborhood of Beaver Pond; dry warm beds await you at Scottish Inns Houlton. The warmest time of the year at Beaver Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down                  to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Beaver Pond dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. Smith Brook Pond is a nearby lake that you could take a look at; you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Pierce Tote Road. Soar down the rapids of Mattawamkeag River - West Branch in a kayak, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Sweets Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
