If you like lakes and you're in this part of Maine you can check out Beaver Bog. Beaver Bog is a good place of common rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This site is unbeatable, just check out all the amusing things to do right next door to Beaver Bog. Going for a hike on the Bemis Stream Trail is always a good adventure; drift down the rapids of Dead River - South Branch in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful.

| | The Milrose Trail is a pleasant hiking trail next to Beaver Bog, and why not head up to Black Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Beaver Bog generally tend to be in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Beaver Bog drop into the-10's. Having a delightful time in the White Mountains | |

is uncomplicated. Beaver Bog is not the only site close by, Quimby Pond is a close by lake, and get soaked paddling on Kennebago River. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Hayno Bog is right nearby, and the best way to spend a
winter day is on the slopes of nearby Saddleback. This lake is located in the wonderful White Mountains. A lake nearby is Secret Bog. There's so much to do here at Beaver Bog that you need to camp here for a while, Cupsuptic Campground
is a pleasant site for that. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the White Mountains has to offer. Near Beaver Bog you discover the Bemis Trail which is a fine hiking trail; you can stay the night at North Camps.

Bugeye Pond
 | 17 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
