     You're almost certainly addicted to lakes, Ragged Lake is one of those nearby; close by you stumble on the Big Spencer Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail. Lakes are glorious; Caribou Lake is a lake that's close to Bear Pond, and do go to Black Brook while you're here at Bear Pond. The annual precipitation here at Bear Pond is about average; the wettest month of the year is usually July, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with  
   the least amount of precipitation. For the duration of the summer months at Bear Pond highs are mostly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Bear Pond are in the-10's.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Big Squaw since you're here, and you can go for a hike on the Gulf Hagas Trail. Why not camp at Frost Pond
 
               Campground while you're here at Bear Pond; Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a good spot to get some rest. What a location this is for outdoors folks. Going for a hike on the Number Four Mountain Trail is always a great adventure; get yourself into a kayak and hit Roach River.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Inn & Suites. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can check out Ragged Lake Dam, and if you come at the right time of year, Pleasant River - West Branch offers some fine whitewater.
