     Everybody close by loves skiing at Big Squaw, and paddling on Pleasant River - West Branch is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. Having a tremendous time at Bear Pond is uncomplicated. Whitewater paddling is great on Nahmakanta Stream, and there are great places to discover along the Gulf Hagas Trail. If you came to camp Jo-mary Lake Campground is a pleasant location to do that, and going for a hike on the Number Two Trail is always a brilliant adventure.
 
   The amount of rainfall that falls at Bear Pond is close to the national average; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime highs at Bear Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Bear Pond temperatures fall to the-10's. Dry warm beds await  
               you at Lodge at Moosehead Lake, and there is a magnificent hiking trail close by called the Auburn Log Hauling Road.
One of the governing highlights of the surroundings of Bear Pond is Big Boardman Mountain, and needless to say, this is a tremendous neighborhood for people who like lakes, Alligator Pond is a lake in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Bear Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Frost Pond Campground is a good place for that, and you're possibly hooked on lakes, Monkey Pond is one of those close by.
