At Bear Pond through the months of summer highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Bear Pond overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 0's. If you come at the right time of year, Big Wilson Stream offers some great whitewater, and if you've had enough of Bear Pond,       Sebec Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. A short journey to Bucks Falls is always worthwhile, and Hedgehog Mountain is easy to spot from Bear Pond. There's some flowing water close by, Big Wilson Stream is a stream you can stop by during your stay, and golf can be played at Foxcroft Golf Club. Dry warm beds await you at Lodge at Moosehead Lake. The Northwest Ridge Road is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Bear Pond, and a good location to                  camp here at Bear Pond is Wildwood Shores Campground. This lake is so wonderful. There is a nice hiking trail next to Bear Pond called the Gulf Hagas Trail, and Bear Pond is not the only site nearby, First Buttermilk Pond is a nearby lake. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Bucks Cove is not far from Bear Pond at all, and why not camp at Jo-mary Lake Campground if you're here at Bear Pond. Bear Pond gets a typical amount of yearly rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while February is usually the driest month.
