    Bear Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Yep, outdoors enjoyable things to do are truly abundant here at Bear Pond. If you're a golfer then a fine nearby course is Bridgton Highlands Country Club, and you can take a little visit to Bear Pond Dam since you're here at Bear Pond. The high level of rainfall makes Bear Pond a rather wet spot; the wettest month of the year is usually November, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest  
   month is September. This lake is so wonderful. At Bear Pond you can make out Bear Mountain, and a fine location for whitewater paddling is Crooked River.
Summertime highs at Bear Pond mostly tend to be in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Bear Pond dip into the 0's. A pleasant nearby hotel is Pleasant Mountain Inn,
 
               and do take a hike on the Albany Mountain Trail. You simply ought to adore Bear Pond. Vacationland Campground is a great campground nearby.
A wonderful lake like Cabbage Yard Pond next to Bear Pond is a great place to stop by, and The Bethel Inn Resort is a good place to get some rest. The snow is glorious at Shawnee Peak; you can have a glorious hiking adventure along the Albany Notch Trail. Bear Mountain Village is a magnificent local campground; you'll discover a beautiful lake called Bog Pond.
If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mount Abram is close to Bear Pond, and Hedgehog Ledge is an interesting place to check out while at Bear Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Albany Brook Trail, and it's a nice idea to check out Kedar Brook.

My sister and I put in just below eddes falls this summer and kayaked all the way to sebago lake. Nice trip....My friend Dan and I ran part of this section last summer. Instead of putting in at Scribner's Mill, we launched from Edes Falls, just above the Rapids. It was a good inroduction to whitewater. Dan flipped within the first five minutes, but being that the water is relatively shallow, he did little more than get wet on a hot summers day. The Route 302 bridge is a logical pull out spot. There is a large mass of debris blocking passage of the river there. The only tricky part is that the walls of the riverband are steep and slippery, so it helps to have someone with you for the portage....
