Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Narraguagus River, and Lead Mountain is clearly visible from Bear Pond. Get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Narraguagus River - West Branch, and Twentyeight Pond is a tremendous lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There are other sites here than Bear Pond, for example Chalk Pond; there's good hiking along the Lead Mountain       Trail. Why not check out close by Bobcat Brook while you're here at Bear Pond; why not camp at Mountainview Campground while you're here at Bear Pond. So much cool stuff close to Bear Pond, absolutely extraordinary. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Bear Pond; Eagle Lake Trail is a glorious local trail, and camping is available at Eastbrook Campground. Bear Pond is a reasonably wet place commonly with a large amount of rainfall; November is the month                  that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
