This is a great neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Beaver Pond is a lake close by, and a splendid location for whitewater paddling is Baker Branch. Beam Pond gets a common amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is July, and February is when it's the driest. Nearby lakes? Sure, Burntland Pond is close to Beam Pond, and St. John River - SW Branch is a splendid whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
