     Good hiking is available along the Morrell Trail, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Cupsuptic River. The skiing at Saddleback is great, and if you came for an overnight stay Black Arrow Lodge is a fine place to camp. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Barnard Pond while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Barnard Pond dipping down into the-10's throughout winter nights. And if  
   that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do next to Barnard Pond. King & Bartlett Lake Camp is a good local campground, and do take a look at Little Barnard Pond, it's a scenic lake.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Dead River - South Branch; since you're here, you could also go to lovely Little Tea Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Barnard Pond; Arnold Pond Trail is
 
               a great local trail. Barnard Pond is a good place of normal precipitation; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. Everybody close by loves skiing at Sugarloaf USA, and don't forget to take a good little trip to Alder Stream. Go for a hike on the Bigelow Range Trail; from Barnard Pond you get a wonderful panorama of Barnard Mountains.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....

A new Inntopia Central Reservation and Packaging System will allow Saddleback to book lodging, Ski & Stay and other packages at the lodges in the town of Rangeley as well as the condominiums at the mountain.
