     Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Waterville Inn, and if you come at the right time of year, Sebasticook River offers some tremendous whitewater. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites is a great site to spend a night or two, and a day on the slopes of Eaton Mountain is just what you need. All through the summer months at Barker Pond highs are typically in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. Highs through  
   the winter are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Barker Pond are in the 0's. If only every location had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great world it would be. Bog Pond is a great lake close to Barker Pond; the sight of stunning Parlin Hill is great.
While you're here at Barker Pond you will meet lots of folks from nearby Augusta-Waterville. Barker Pond gets a lot of water; during the month of July you get the most rain around
 
               here; February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Skowhegan/Canaan KOA, and a charming lake like Perry Pond is a good spot to check out.
A fine place to camp here at Barker Pond is Two Rivers Campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Wesserunsett Stream.

Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends.
The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan....

Breezy Acres Camps and Guide Service is located in both Solon and Eustis Maine. He have housekeeping cabins which are set up with full size stoves, refrigerators,microwave, coffee pot, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, etc. The beds are made with linens and there are plenty of towels for the shower in the bathroom. Each cabin has its own picnic table, charcoal grill and outside fire pit. We can sleep up to 38 people.

You can access snowmobile and ATV trails right from the cabin for many miles of riding. Canoeing and kayaking on various lakes, ponds, streams and rivers are a great way to relax. Hunting, fishing, golf and white water rafting are some of the other activities that we offer.

We offer reasonable rates and great hospitality.
