Paddling on Sandy River is so much fun, and Titcomb has splendid slopes and a friendly staff. You'll locate a beautiful lake called Staples Pond near Ballard Pond, and the summit of Porter Hill can be observed from Ballard Pond. Stay the night at Nor 40 Campground, and if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a glorious choice. | | just no way somebody can get bored here at Ballard Pond. While you're here at Ballard Pond you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Ballard Pond has to offer, you can camp at Twin Pond Campground. This lake is so wonderful. A picturesque lake like Mud Pond right next door to Ballard Pond is a good site to check out, and Staples Pond Dam has fine water scenery. Summertime highs at Ballard | |

Pond typically tend to be in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Ballard Pond dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights.
This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Temple Stream in a kayak, and you can hit the slopes at Sugarloaf USA nearby. The high level of rain makes Ballard Pond a reasonably wet spot; November is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest.
