    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Ballard Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Gus Mitchell Brook is a delightful stream that is worth going to, and paddling on Sandy River is so much fun. All the water falling down from the sky makes Ballard Pond a wet place; November is the month that gets the most rain while February is generally the driest month.
For the period of the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 70's at Ballard Pond. Once the sun is
 
   down it plunges down to the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Ballard Pond night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. Be careful coming to Ballard Pond, you might not ever want to go home again. Stay the night at Twin Pond Campground, and you can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Sugarloaf USA. After a long day outdoors Wilson Lake Inn is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two; you can have a brilliant  
               hiking adventure along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Titcomb since you're here, and get soaked paddling on Temple Stream. Porter Hill is a peak you can spot from Ballard Pond, and a great nearby hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites. Staples Pond Dam is not far at all from Ballard Pond; Nor 40 Campground is a great campground nearby.
