Bald Mountain Pond is a quite wet place mostly with much rain; all through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. Any time is a nice time at Bald Mountain Pond if you adore the outdoors. All through the winter the highs are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Bald Mountain Pond. This lake is so wonderful. is great fun. Have a splendid hiking adventure along the Intake Trail, and after a long day outdoors Bingham Motor Inn is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. There are other places here than Bald Mountain Pond, for example Little Moxie Pond, and whitewater paddling is nice on Austin Stream.

Eaton Mountain
 | 24 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
