Balch Pond is a nice lake to visit. A good place to camp here at Balch Pond is Apple Valley Campground; Mitchell Mountain is clearly visible from Balch Pond. Great East Lake Beach is next to Balch Pond if you're in a beach type of mood, and pretty scenery and splendid skiing is what you acquire at Abenaki. Gotta ski! King Pine is a brilliant place to do that, and you can run the rapids of Ossipee River.
