From Back Settlement Pond you acquire a brilliant view of Beech Hill, and a pretty lake like Molunkus       Lake is a magnificent location to stop by. Back Settlement Pond really is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. If you come at the right time of year, Mattawamkeag offers some glorious whitewater, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Penobscot River. During the summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Back Settlement Pond. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's.
