Haskell Deadwater is close by, and whitewater paddling is fine on Seboeis River. If only every location had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great globe it would be. Atwood Pond is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a great spot to camp nearby, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Spring Brook Trail. Haskell Rock Pitch is always fun to check out, and       in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Penobscot River - East Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at South Branch Pond Campground, and there's perfect hiking along the Matagamon Tote Road. Through the days of summer at Atwood Pond temperatures are regularly in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the                  20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Atwood Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A normal amount of rain falls here at Atwood Pond; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. Don't leave Atwood Pond without first checking out The Oxbow, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Atwood Pond; Jerry Pond Tote Road is a perfect local trail. Nearby lakes?
