Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Sheepscot River - West Branch, and a wonderful lake like Dam Pond is a good place to explore. The amount of rainfall that falls at Anderson Pond is close to the national average; most of the rain falls throughout November, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Countryside Camping is always a fine experience, and Anderson Pond is not far at all from Augusta-Waterville. All through the warmest time of the year here at Anderson Pond, high temperatures generally get into the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. seekers, and you can spot Cross Hill from Anderson Pond. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Anderson Pond. If you're here at Anderson Pond and you like golf, you can visit Western View Golf Club, and after a long
day outdoors Hampton Inn Waterville/Augusta ME is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Spectacle Pond is a great lake next to Anderson Pond.

Eaton Mountain
 | 20 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
