This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is fine here at Ames Pond, you can go for a hike along the Jerusalem Mountain Trail, and Island Country Club is a magnificent golf course nearby. Best Western Fort Knox Inn is a nice spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Ames Pond, you could also visit nearby Burntland Pond, and if you come at the right time       of year, Goose Falls offers some great whitewater. Ames Pond is a good location of normal precipitation; most of the rain falls through November, and the driest month is February. Have a good hiking adventure along the Sawyer Notch Trail; do pop by Inner Harbor while you're here. During the summertime months, highs commonly are in the 70's at Ames Pond. All through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the                  20's while the cold winter nights at Ames Pond are in the 0's.
