There's so much to do here at Allen Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Spring Campground is a wonderful site for that. At Allen Pond through the summer months highs are in the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures       are in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Allen Pond dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. There are great sites to explore along the Lead Mountain Trail; you're in all probability interested in lakes, Bracey Pond is one of those nearby. Lakes are wonderful; Third Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Allen Pond, and you can go for a hike on the Eagle Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent                  nearby hotel is Sea Breeze Motel, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Narraguagus River. This lake is so wonderful. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Allen Pond has it all. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Allen Pond has to offer, you can camp at Maple Grove Campground, and don't forget to take a nice little visit to Mosquito Brook.
