Whitewater paddling is great on Narraguagus River, and Bowers Pitch is an exciting thing to spot since you're here. If you came to camp Cold Spring Campground is a wonderful location to do that; if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Eagle Lake Trail. During the summertime at Allen Pond temperatures are generally in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to       the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Allen Pond temperatures descend to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Allen Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Maple Grove Campground is a tremendous place for that, and get dripping wet paddling on Mopang Stream. Going for a hike along the Lead Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of                  this vicinity; if you've had enough of Allen Pond, Bracey Pond is nearby. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Allen Pond, so little time. At Allen Pond you can see Oxbow Mountain, and most likely you're looking for nearby lakes?
