During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. All through the winter the highs are mostly in the 20's with temperatures at Allen Pond dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. After a long day outdoors Sea Breeze Motel is a perfect site to spend a night or two; if you come at the right time of year, Narraguagus River offers       some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Oxbow Mountain is clearly visible from Allen Pond, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Mopang Stream. The Lead Mountain Trail is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Allen Pond; since you're here, you could visit Mosquito Brook. Why not camp at Maple Grove Campground while you're here at Allen Pond. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Allen                  Pond. While you're here at Allen Pond, you could also stop by picturesque Horseshoe Lake; if you want to pop by some exciting stuff, pop by Bowers Pitch. A good deal of precipitation falls at Allen Pond; November is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
