Alder Pond Brook is a brilliant local stream, and camping at Alder Pond is good fun, Loon Echo Campground is a good local campground. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Alder Pond; Arnolds Trail is a tremendous local trail, and skiing at Sugarloaf USA is one of those things you just have to do. The yearly rain here at Alder Pond is about average; of all the months in a year July       is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. At Alder Pond during the summertime highs are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Alder Pond dipping down into the-10's all through winter nights. Here at Alder Pond you can make out The Norways, and dry warm beds await you at Judson's Sugarloaf Motel. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Alder Pond you obtain                  some great water scenery at Dead River Dam, and paddling on Little Spencer Stream is so much fun. After a long day outdoors Carrabassett Inn is a nice location to spend a night or two, and great hiking is available along the Fire Warden Trail. You could also have a look at Eagle Pond while you're here at Alder Pond; it's close by. Crocker Mountain Cirque Campground is a splendid campground here, and get drenched paddling on Spencer Stream. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! Alder Pond rules!
