And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do near Alder Lake. Go for a hike on the Old Dam Tote Road, and get your heart beating on the good whitewater of St. Croix Stream. An average amount of rainfall falls at Alder Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months       is February. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Neil E Michaud Campground is a delightful place to camp, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Alder Brook Pond is just a very short distance away. Throughout the warm months at Alder Lake temperatures are regularly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are commonly in the 10's while Alder Lake overnight low temperatures                  through the winter are in the-10's. Good hiking is available along the Sweets Trail, and after a long day outdoors Crown Park Inn is a perfect place to spend a night or two. Libby's Sporting Camps is a great campground nearby, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Salmon Brook. While staying at Alder Lake you could always explore The Notch, and of course, this is a great vicinity for folks who like lakes, Whitney Brook is a lake in close proximity.
