     Abol Pond is a nice lake to visit. There are some great whitewater spots on Nesowadnehunk Stream. There's so much to do here at Abol Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Roaring Brook Campground is a great place for that. If you need a spot to stay Katahdin Inn is a wonderful choice, and hiking along the Abot Trail is great fun. All the outdoors exciting things close to Abol Pond will keep you coming back many times. Going for a hike along the Cathedral  
   Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Nesowadnehunk Stream River.
The yearly precipitation here at Abol Pond is about average; during the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Abol Trail, and Lower Togue Pond is a nearby lake that you
 
               could stop at. Through the long summer days here at Abol Pond, high temperatures mostly reach the 70's with night lows in the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's, and overnight lows at Abol Pond during the winter frequently drop into the-10's.
A day on the slopes of Big Squaw is just what you need. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Abol Pond has to offer, you can camp at Chimney Pond Campground. While you're here at Abol Pond, you could also go to charming Pockwockamus Pond, and the summit of Abol Mountain can be made out from Abol Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
