Nicatous Lake Dam is an exciting thing to check out, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Passadumkeag River. Why not visit Porter Cove also if you're here, and some of the water close by flows, like Porter Brook. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great earth it would be. If you need a location to stay White Birches Country Club is a magnificent choice, and get your heart       pumping on the nice whitewater of Nicatous Stream. Near Abarngamook Lake you find the Lead Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail; Abarngamook Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Cold Spring Campground is a delightful local campground. Much precipitation falls at Abarngamook Lake; November is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. There is a delightful hiking trail                  in the vicinity of Abarngamook Lake called the Eagle Lake Trail, and if you came to camp Maple Grove Campground is a fine place to do that. All through the summer months highs here at Abarngamook Lake reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's.
