Many people like to go to Woodward Pond. Woodward Pond is a wet spot that gets a lot of precipitation; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is January. Greenbelt Park is a very fine spot to have a look at next to Woodward Pond, and Allen Pond Dam is a pretty location, absolutely worth stopping at. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Allen Pond, and get drenched paddling on Little Patuxent River. Drift down the rapids of Anacostia

| | River in a kayak, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Magnolia Trail. You could also visit Walking Fish Pond since you're here at Woodward Pond; it's nearby, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Baltimore-Towson. This lake is so wonderful. Woodward Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Duncan's Family Campground is a wonderful local campground, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Cross | |

Road Trail. Throughout the months of summer at Woodward Pond temperatures are usually in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. Highs all through the winter are mostly in the 40's, and winter nights come with
lows in the 20's to Woodward Pond. Hampton Inn Bowie is a great spot to get some rest. A glorious place to camp here at Woodward Pond is Millersville Koa Kampground, and dry warm beds await you at TownePlace Suites by Marriott Bowie
Town Center. So much cool stuff to do here at Woodward Pond, too magnificent to be true. Enjoy a round of golf at Bowie Golf & Country Club not far from Woodward Pond; the Loop Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby.

Burba Lake
 | 1 PHOTO ...erve with picnic facilities for large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle. All in all, though I'm not a great writer...this is a won... |
Greenbelt Park
 | Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
Greenbelt Lake
 | 10 miles away I often take my kids to the park at Greenbelt Lake. The playground is very big and they have a ton of fun. There are things there suitable for all kids ages. We also go around the lake, me running and them riding thier bikes. the trail and lake are beautiful and shaded - which is wonderful during the hot days in the summer.... |
Scotts Cove Campground
 | 13 miles away I live near Scotts Cove and have never seen a camp ground there. This is a reservoir.? Nor is there skiing at this location.? It is a beautiful area for locals to picnic at and take a walk.... |
