Fort Washington Park is a fine place right next door to Wakefield Lake. There's so much to do here at Wakefield Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cedarville State Park is a wonderful site for that. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Wakefield Lake. Waldorf-Days Inn is a great place to get some rest; you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria here.       A perfect close by hotel is Courtyard Waldorf; nearby you locate the West Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. An average amount of rainfall falls at Wakefield Lake; all through August this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Near Wakefield Lake you discover a golf course called Robin Dale Golf Club, and Wakefield Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Aqua Land Campgrounds is a great                  local campground. Going for a hike on the Panhandle Trail is always a great adventure, and needless to say, this is a nice neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Post Office Lake is a lake in the vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on Anacostia River. All through the days of summer at Wakefield Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 70's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 40's, and night lows throughout the wintertime for Wakefield Lake tend to be in the 20's. There are fine places to explore along the South Trail.
