Wakefield Lake is a nice lake to visit. Going for a hike on the Panhandle Trail is always a delightful adventure; a round of golf at nearby Robin Dale Golf Club is a good way to kill some time. There are brilliant places to look at along the South Trail; Wakefield Lake is a spot with many visitors from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria. This lake is so wonderful.

| | place to get some rest. During the summertime at Wakefield Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 70's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Wakefield Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. An average amount of rain falls at Wakefield Lake; most of the rain falls all through August, and February on the other hand is the driest.

Near Wakefield Lake you come across the West Trail which is a great hiking trail; don't miss out on a trip to Fort Washington Park while you're here. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Wakefield
Lake. Wakefield Lake is not the only site close by, Lambeth Hill Lake is a close by lake, and a pleasant nearby hotel is Waldorf-Days Inn. There's so much to do here at Wakefield Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Aqua Land Campgrounds is a pleasant place for that; float down the rapids of Anacostia River in a kayak.
