It's always fun to stop by Silver Lake. The annual precipitation here at Silver Lake is about average; during May this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Wash Water Lake, and Holiday Inn Express BALTIMORE AT THE STADIUMS is a nice site to get some rest. Paddling on Jones Falls is so much fun; a wonderful spot to camp here at Silver Lake is Holiday Mobile Estates.

| | Golf can be played at Forest Park Golf Course, and there's some flowing water close by, Gwynns Falls is a stream you can take a look at during your stay. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Silver Lake. Lakes are pleasant; Druid Lake is a lake that's right next door to Silver Lake, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Baltimore-Towson. A visit to nearby Middle Branch Patapsco River is very relaxing, and Silver Lake is brilliant | |

enough to spend more than a day at, Timer Ridge is a brilliant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Gwynns Falls has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby, and after a long day outdoors Sleep Inn , Inn & Suites Airport
is a fine site to spend a night or two. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Silver Lake. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun
is down during the winter temperatures at Silver Lake fall into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Greenbelt Park is a glorious national park.

Burba Lake
 | 10 miles away 1 PHOTO ...d small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.  | 17 miles away I live near Scotts Cove and have never seen a camp ground there. This is a reservoir.? Nor is there skiing at this location.? It is a beautiful area for locals to picnic at and take a walk.... |
Greenbelt Park
 | 20 miles away Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
