All the water falling down from the sky makes Purnell Pond a wet spot; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while November is mostly the driest month. And that's not all you can do here at Purnell Pond. Not far from Purnell Pond you come across Big Bay Point; camping is available at Pine Grove Campground. There's good hiking along the Ragged Point Trail, and camping at Pocomoke       River State Park is always a splendid experience. Boxiron Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth taking a look at; if you're a golfer then a good close by course is Nassawango Country Club. Blue Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit, and if you need a place to stay Refuge Motor Inn is a great choice. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Big Bay Marsh is right nearby, and if you get bored of Purnell Pond you could also pop by close by Boxiron Pond.                  This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Assateague Island National Seashore is recommended. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Purnell Pond, and the night is somewhat colder of course, commonly in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are commonly in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Purnell Pond sink into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
