Assateague Island National Seashore is a very good spot to stop by close to Porpoise Pond, and Dirickson Neck is very near and is a brilliant spot to take a look at. Summertime highs at Porpoise Pond usually tend to be in the 80's while nighttime lows are usually in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Porpoise Pond temperatures descend to the                  20's. This lake is so wonderful. Porpoise Pond is not the only site close by, Oyster Pond is a close by lake. Swamps like Swan Gut right next door to Porpoise Pond make for tremendous locations to have a look at; Porpoise Pond is not far at all from Ocean Pines. This lake is so wonderful.
