A wonderful place to camp here at Pinto Utilities Reservoir is Reserve World, and a pleasant close by hotel is LaValeCumberland Red Roof Inn. This is a great area for folks who like lakes. Ridgedale Reservoir is a lake close by, and camping at Iron Mountain Campground is always a splendid experience. The natural beauty of rock cliffs, South Branch of the Potomac River that flows north, natural sand beach with fresh water muscle shells and fossil rocks on it make it a great place to launch a boat, fish, do a float trip, etc. You can sit by the river and watch it go past, bird and bald or golden eagle watch, picnic by the day, camp overnight or longer, do a monthly rental, or season lease,and make new friends here!
If exploring our 4 state area of WV, MD, VA, PA is your preference we'll be glad to give you suggestions based on your interests: early American history with forts; Civil War with trenches, museums, Indian Mound Cemetary; Potomac Eagle Train, caves in area, WV and National Parks; Hampshire County Library for family tree work; C & O Canal and Paw Paw tunnel are great places to hike and bike.
