You're sure to run into some friendly people from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria here; camping is available at Cherry Hill Park. Going for a hike along the Panhandle Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and you can run the rapids of Anacostia River. Northampton Lake is a reasonably wet place generally with a great deal of rain; May is the month that gets the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

| | Greenbelt Park is a delightful spot in the vicinity of Northampton Lake, and camping at Duncan's Family Campground is always a delightful experience. Anacostia River - Northwest Branch is a pleasant whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Northampton Lake, and a lake close by is Allen Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Magnolia Trail, and an interesting thing to have a look at next to Northampton Lake is Northampton Lake Dam. There's just no way | |

anybody can get bored here at Northampton Lake. Take a side spree to Bald Hill Branch, and if you get bored of Northampton Lake you could also stop by close by Collington Lake. A round of golf at nearby Bowie Golf & Country Club
is a wonderful way to kill some time, and dry warm beds await you at Hampton Inn WAS I95 Largo. At Northampton Lake throughout the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into
the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Northampton Lake during the wintertime regularly drop into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Loop Trail is nice
fun, and if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites I-95 CAPITOL BELTWAY-LARGO is a wonderful choice. Be careful coming to Northampton Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again.

 | Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
Greenbelt Lake
 | I often take my kids to the park at Greenbelt Lake. The playground is very big and they have a ton of fun. There are things there suitable for all kids ages. We also go around the lake, me running and them riding thier bikes. the trail and lake are beautiful and shaded - which is wonderful during the hot days in the summer.... |
Burba Lake
 | 11 miles away 1 PHOTO ...nic facilities for large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle. Scotts Cove Campground
 | 13 miles away I live near Scotts Cove and have never seen a camp ground there. This is a reservoir.? Nor is there skiing at this location.? It is a beautiful area for locals to picnic at and take a walk.... |
