Long Pond is a lake worth visiting. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Long Pond; July is the month that gets the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Coolfont Resort is a tremendous choice. A short visit to Robert Milborn Spring is always worthwhile, and you can stay the night at Little Orleans Campground.

You can run the rapids of Sideling Hill Creek close to Long Pond, and hiking along the Imes Trail is good fun. Through the months of summer at Long Pond highs are commonly in the 80's; the overnight is fairly cooler of course, generally in the 50's. Mudlick Hollow is near Long Pond and is a great location, and Long Pond is right by the Heifer Lick Trail. Lots of folks from Winchester come to Long Pond, and some of the water
nearby flows, like Flat Run. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Rocky Gap Lodge. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Long Pond has to offer, you can camp at Fifteen Mile Creek Campground.
