It's always fun to stop by Lake Liberty. Hampton Inn Baltimore/Glen Burnie is a tremendous site to get some rest; a wonderful lake like Hidden Pond is a fine site to go to. This lake is so wonderful. On a splendid day you can go to Gumbottom Bog, a swamp close to Lake Liberty, and lots of folks from Baltimore-Towson come here. | | the 40's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Lake Liberty tend to be in the 20's. Looking for some flowing water? Try Bear Branch; float down the rapids of Herring Run in a kayak. Lake Liberty sees pretty high levels of precipitation; during the month of May you get the most rain around here while January is usually the driest month. lake. Man, is there heaps of entertaining stuff to do near Lake Liberty. Dry warm beds await you at Country Inn And Suites By Carlson Annapolis, and paddling on Gwynns Falls is so much fun. Lake Liberty is brilliant enough to
spend more than a day at, Holiday Mobile Estates is a brilliant local campground; an afternoon playing golf at Chartwell Golf & Country Club is always a delight. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lake Liberty you must take a look at Brooksbys Point; if you're looking for a perfect spree, Greenbelt Park is quite near.

A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.  | 20 miles away Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
