Liberty Lake is always a pleasure to visit. For the duration of the days of summer at Liberty Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's while night lows are commonly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Liberty Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Liberty Lake a wet location; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and

| | January is the month with the least moisture. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Dry warm beds await you at Turf Valley Resort; golf can be played at Willow Springs Golf Course. Very fine water scenery is available at Liberty Dam in the vicinity of Liberty Lake, and you can stay the night at Beth Tfiloh Camps. This lake is so wonderful. Run while you're here. Johns Hopkins Pond is a glorious lake near Liberty Lake, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Piney Run. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Greenbelt Park is
recommended. There's so much to do here at Liberty Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Holiday is a great place for that, and whitewater paddling is great on Patapsco River - South Branch. If you need a site to stay Hyatt Place Owings Mills is a tremendous choice; lakes are such peaceful spots, why not stop at Wilde Lake.

Burba Lake
 | 18 miles away 1 PHOTO ...large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.  | 20 miles away Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
