Lake Waterford is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. All our national parks are great sites to have a look at, and Greenbelt Park is no exception, and if you need a site to stay Days Inn- Glen Burnie is a good choice. Lake Waterford is a wet location that gets lots of rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most, and January meanwhile is the driest month. | | place to stop at, and if you're here, you could also stop by wonderful Cattail Pond. Get covered with water paddling on Herring Run, and the friendly folks of Baltimore-Towson like to hang out close by. For you golfers we recommend close by Chartwell Golf & Country Club, and Lake Waterford Dam is an interesting thing to check out. the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lake Waterford. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Gwynns Falls. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake Waterford
has to offer, you can camp at Holiday Mobile Estates. This place, Lake Waterford, it truly has so much outdoors fun stuff. Do schedule some time to check out Eli Cove near Lake Waterford if you have a chance, and Duck Pond is a nearby
lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Hampton Inn Baltimore/Glen Burnie; you can stay the night at Millersville Koa Kampground.

Burba Lake
 | 12 miles away 1 PHOTO ... small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.  | 22 miles away Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
