A lake close by is Lake Royer, and South Mountain Golf Course is a perfect golf course close by. This lake is so wonderful. There is a nice hiking trail close to Lake Royer called the High Rock Nature Trail, and get wet paddling on Hunting Creek. That right there is plenty already, but it keeps on going; Lake Royer has it all. Glen Afton Spring is an inspiring place to visit while you're here;       Ski Liberty is a brilliant local ski area. On a fine day at Lake Royer you can take a hike along the Spiderbush Nature Trail, and Lower Lake Royer Dam is a place that is right next door to Lake Royer. Devils Run is near Lake Royer and is always a pleasure to pop by; paddling on Antietam Creek - East Branch is so much fun. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Lake Royer; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here while February is                  typically the driest month. You could also explore Comet Lake if you're here at Lake Royer; it's nearby, and Clermont Crag is a great place to stop by while in the neighborhood. If you need a site to stay Days Inn Waynesboro is a pleasant choice, and if you came for an overnight stay William Houck Campground is a nice place to camp. Throughout the summertime months highs here at Lake Royer reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Lake Royer plunge into the 10's. Thurmont Super 8 Motel is a great place to get some rest, and if you have time, Catoctin Mountain Park is a national park worth going to. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Quirauk Mountain is easily seen from Lake Royer, and close by you find the Cunningham Falls Nature Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. And that's not all you can do here at Lake Royer.
