Lake Marian is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. If you haven’t been to Catoctin Mountain Park, you ought to schedule some time for it while you're here; dry warm beds await you at Frederick Travelodge. A perfect place for whitewater paddling near Lake Marian is Bennett Creek, and wonderful hiking is available along the Cunningham Falls Nature Trail. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Holly Hills Country Club.

Lake Marian is a wet location that gets a good deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain,
and February is the month with the least moisture. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. This is a popular site for people from Gettysburg; camping is available at New Hope Valley Campground. Why not camp at Little Bennett
Regional Park if you're here at Lake Marian, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Marian; High Rock Nature Trail is a fine local trail.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Hampton Inn & Suites Frederick-Fort Detrick, MD is a great choice; the Spiderbush Nature Trail offers hiking at its best.
