This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Potomac River; this is a popular site for folks from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria. For the period of the warmest time of the year highs here at Lake Halcyon get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lake Halcyon.       This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Halcyon; Paw Paw Passage Trail is a delightful local trail, and an attention-grabbing thing to stop at in the neighborhood of Lake Halcyon is Lake Placid Dam. Lake Halcyon is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, New Hope Valley Campground is a splendid place to camp nearby; Oakwood Gaithersburg is a delightful spot to get some rest. Lake Halcyon is right by the Potomac Heritage                  Trail, and golf can be played at Laytonsville Golf Course. And that's not all you can do here at Lake Halcyon. Paddling on Little Seneca Creek is so much fun, and dry warm beds await you at TownePlace Suites Gaithersburg. If you get bored of Lake Halcyon, you could also take a look at nearby Elysium Lake; why not take a refreshing hike along the Meadow Trail.
